General FAQs

Customers can cancel their booking and receive a full refund so long as this is done with at least 48 hours notice before your trip is due to commence. If a cancellation is made within 48 hours of your scheduled trip you will not receive a refund. Clyde Charters reserves the right to amend, change, modify or cancel any boat trip at any time. All of our boat trips are subject to weather, tide and local conditions.  In these circumstances we will issue a full refund. Refunds take 5-10 working days. 

Tickets for trips can be purchased and paid for online via our online booking system on our website.

Yes, well behaved dogs are allowed onboard although they must be kept on a lead and any mess made on the boat or the island must be cleared by the owner. For obvious reasons we cannot allow dogs on the Rib trips.

Pregnant people are welcome at your own risk.

Our vessel Topcat has 1 toilet onboard. Topcat has no access to disabled toilet, however, the marina does!

No alcohol is permitted to be brought on board any of our vessels. There will however, be alcohol available to purchase on Topcat.

No food or drink is permitted on any of our rib trips. There will, however, be food and drink for sale on Topcat. 

Infants 0-1 year are welcome free of charge on board Tonka and Topcat, however, for safety reasons we cannot allow infants on our Rib trips on Talisker. We are also limited to only two infants on Tonka and Topcat as the vessels only carry 2x infant lifejackets.  

Our vessel ‘Topcat’ has a ramp allowing wheelchair access, just be sure to let us know beforehand so we can have it ready for you!

SUGAR BOAT TOUR FAQs

The meeting point for our Sugar Boat trips is at James Watt Dock Marina, East Hamilton Street, PA15 2UA. When you arrive at the marina please look out for our Clyde Charter signs, our vessels are based underneath the big Clydeport crane at the marina and you will also see our meeting point sign at this location.

The meeting point for Little Cumbrae trips is at the RNLI slipway at Largs.

No. Please ensure that you return to the meeting point to catch a return boat at the time discussed by the Skipper. As our vessel is only licensed to carry 12 passengers, we cannot add extra passengers to any trips.

The meeting point for our Glasgow Tours starts at the pontoon at Braehead shopping centre. This is beside Krispy Kreme and there is ample parking at the Braehead shopping centre car parks.

Our vessel Topcat has 1 toilet onboard, our vessel Tonka also operates this trip and has no toilet although there are toilets within Braehead shopping centre.
